Romagean studied art in New York, Houston, and Europe, graduating with honors from Mesa State College, Grand Junction, CO. Her majors are in Art, Fine Art, Liberal Art, and Art Education, which provided the foundation for her as art teacher for grades K-12 from 1984 until 2004 at the Ouray School. When Romagean was 6 years old she sold a work of art to her first grade teacher, and immediately began dreaming of a career as an artist. She went on to win many prestigious awards, and has exhibited her work at universities, colleges, museums, and in numerous art shows across the United States. Collectors worldwide prize her pieces for their individuality and beauty of expression. "The primary intent of my work is to help people understand the delicate balance between man/woman and nature. My work is more than an abstraction of line and shape; it represents life for man/woman, animals, and plants. Without a very delicate balance between the three, the universe, as we have come to know it, would not exist. Through the studied combination of a variety of objects, each piece reflects this balance as I see it in the world around us. I find beauty in nature objects, man-made objects, and life itself. It gives me great satisfaction to take scraps of metal or other discards, and combine them with natural materials to create a work of art. I enjoy working with bronze, clay, cement, stone, plaster; found objects, print making, painting and drawings. Through such a variety of materials, I try to reflect the shapes found in life as well as nature. When a viewer takes the time to observe my abstract shapes they will discover a correlation between all living things."
